Whewwwww! Well that weekend just flew by way too fast and I feel like I'm finally just now coming down off the high from it! It was definitely jam packed but it was awesome in every sense of the word. I almost teared up seeing my Dad waiting outside in the driveway when we pulled up and I was half walking-half running just to get to him! Not seeing my parents since Christmas really sucks! On Friday night, Teagan and Kemper had a small openhouse at their daycare that our whole family went to. We got to see some of their art work and then they performed some songs for us. Who doesn't like hearing "Down By The Bay" and "Wheels On The Bus" being sung to you by a group of kids all under the age of 5?! Umm so freaking adorable!!!! Then we all went to Chuck E. Cheese and tore up some games and ski ball like it was our job. Chuck E. Cheese is definitely not just for kids....I mean, they sell pitchers of beer for pete's sake! Which also rocks even though we didn't get any because my Dad had already stocked up on some at my brother's house. So we ran around collecting tickets for the kids so they could redeem some kick-ass prizes aka a slinky and some smarties!!!!!! I wish my whole day and week could be made by getting a slinky and some smarties but seeing their smiles and how happy they were was so dang cute. We continued the party then at Scott's house and all sat around just soaking up each other's awesomeness, exchanging ridiculous stories and enjoying some cold brewhas. And I loved every single minute of it.
Saturday was just as jam packed as Friday was but again, equally as amazing. My mom, Janelle and I all went to my first official dress fitting! Eeeeek! And my dress already fits perfect and so good!!!!! I just have to have a hem, bustle and boob cups put in for alterations, yipee! The dress is so beautiful and every time I put it on, I just feel like I'm glowing and so giddy...can't wait for the big day to get here! Now I just can't gain or lose a single pound to make sure it fits perfect! Ha! All of us girls then went to my Aunt Mary's and got all of the bridal shower invites stamped, addressed and sealed! She handmade all 40, yes FORTY, of them out of scrapbook paper and stamps and jewels. They are the bomb and so stinking cute!! It's a kitchen themed shower so she also surprised me by including a recipe card in the envelope for everyone to bring at the shower with one of their recipes on it and the card has a picture of Paisley on it and says across the top, "A dog gone good recipe from the kitchen of: ______" I love them and can't wait to have them with some yummy recipes to try out! After sidetracking doing wedding stuff for me, we all got cleaned up and headed out to go to my cousin Jenny's wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and the reception was a good time seeing all of my cousins and other family that I hadn't seen in quite awhile! It was also a big eye opener for Jordan to see just how big my mom's side of the family is but I'm happy he got to meet almost all of them already instead of waiting until our wedding! Naturally, after the reception, we took the party back to our hotel room. Three cases of beer later, we were all good and passed out by 1am. Job well done team!
Sunday was Mother's Day! So we again all hit the road and drove to Charles City to spend the day with my Grandma! My Aunt Tammy, Uncle Jim and cousin Syd were all visiting too so it turned into a Cross Family reunion pretty much. It was the most perfect day outside weather-wise so we all just sat out, soaked up the sun and enjoyed some quality conversations. Jordan had finals this week and we had to get back to town to pick up Paisley, so we left after playing a round of card games. Leaving this time was a lot easier than leaving and saying goodbye at Christmas that's for sure. We all had one hell of a weekend together and I'm so lucky and blessed to have the family I have! I can't wait for my parents to be back again in 3 weeks for my bridal shower and to all be together again!
