This past weekend Jordan and I went to our first (and I think only?!) wedding for the summer! It was for a good friend of Jordan's from high school so it was fun seeing her and being there to help celebrate her day! Jordan enjoyed enough beer for the two of us and we got to do some dancing together...always my favorite part! There were at least 5 other pregnant women there as well so that was kind of funny to see and I know I heard a few people say, "there must be something in the water at Coe..." which is where the bride and groom met each other. It was nice receiving so many wonderful compliments about how I look and well wishes for our future baby! It didn't hit me and Jordan until we were driving home that next summer for any weddings, or anything for that matter, that we will have a baby with us! RSVP for 3, coming up!
because they always have something to chat about, cook up, or craft a cheap project....

You win Blues & BBQ fest, you win.
Well, yesterday we went to North Liberty's 6th Annual Blues & BBQ festival. Of course, we went after Jared and Heather's housewarming party and had a BBQ fest of our own there with plenty of beer to boot. I'm about 90% sure that none of us actually needed to go to the beer tent, but we all had free drink tickets so technically, we had to go. I mean, how we could let those tickets go to waste?!! Anyway. The housewarming party was a lot of fun. There's not much better than being surrounded by good friends, cold brehaws, and yard games going on all during a perfect summer afternoon. After we threw down at the new house, we all stumbled over to the festival. And of course they only had all fancy beers on tap, I'm talking the 8-9% beers. Not exactly what I needed at that point. Crazy dancing did indeed happen in the tent.
Thank you to Jared and Heather for throwing a housewarming party and the first party of the summer! We're lucky to have such great friends nearby, we love you guys! It was an entertaining day but now I think I'll go back to laying around and soaking up this Lazy Sunday for all it's worth. Tomorrow is the start of another work week!

The Farmer's Market
Today marked the Opening Day for the Farmer's Market in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids!! Unfortunately, I had to spend my day working at the hospital so I was unable to go collect a week supply of delicious and juicy homegrown fruits and veggies and check out some unique decorations and items for the home. There's truly nothing better in the summertime than a big supply of fresh fruits and veggies! Which is one more thing I'll greatly miss now that my parent's are down in Texas. They had a huge, awesome garden and whenever I visited, I was sure to leave with BAGS full of cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes and so much more goodness. Ahh and the homemade salsa!!!! Those were the days..... Makes me look forward to the day when I have a big backyard and can plant a garden of my own! I'm hoping to make it to the farmer's market next weekend hopefully and be able to make some fun (healthy!) Memorial Day treats! Just never know what you can find at those little stands! Until then, hopefully my mouth stops watering thinking about all that fresh produce....yum!
